Painting with light
f/11, bulb, ISO 800...
This assignment was really fun. For it, Becca and I went into the studio and I had her do some of her dance moves (which she was awesome at!)
I had to use a high ISO mostly because I was trying to capture action, and I didn't want Becca to break an ankle!
Here's the lighting setup:

Single Strobe
This assignment was HARD. Really, really hard. I had a tough time finding content, I felt like really awkward holding that strobe around, and I don't think I was successful at all for this assignment. But, I just got to keep practicing, and luckily I'll have plenty of opportunities this semester to get better...

Classmate portrait
OK...so I've been really bad about updating this blog. Anywho, this was my select from my classmate studio portrait.
I shot Alex Lewis, a 12-year-old from New Jersey. (Kidding, he's not 12, but he says he looks like it!)
I shot this using three lights: two on the gray backdrop (which I made white) and one light with a softbox on a boom above Alex. The lighting diagram below explains it all.
Also, f/8, 1/250 sec., ISO 100, just in case you care :)

Changing Light
For this assignment, I decided to photograph that venerable symbol of MU, Jesse Hall, at five times throughout the day.
So I got up at 5:30 a.m., and I shot.
Then I was up all day and I shot some more.
Then I was up all night because I was editing.
But, here's my selects...
Jesse Hall, 6:40 a.m., Wed., Sept. 12, 2007
7:02 a.m.
8:28 a.m.
4:30 p.m.
